Managing licenses

Configure your license or apply a trial key.

Before you begin

Typically, you start with HCL DevOps Velocity (Velocity) by installing the Community Edition (CE) or the Standard Edition (SE) Trial. Your edition is determined by the key that you enter during installation. As a reminder, the Current Application Edition field displays your current edition. If you want to continue to use the CE, no additional configuration is required.

About this task

Apply your license by connecting Velocity version 5.1.0 or later to My HCLSoftware (MHS) server.

You must enter the License server URL and License Pool ID details to configure the server.

For cloud license server, you can obtain the license server URL from MHS. A typical example of server URL is https://cls.myhcl-software.com/v1/licensepools/11sdfrgn. In this URL:
  • cls.myhcl-software.com is the URL of the License server.
  • 11sdfrg is the License Pool ID.

For local license server setup, the License server and License Pool ID are available only after server is configured. The License Server URL is https://FQDN:portnumber. You can find the License Pool ID in the hcl_lls_pools.log file located in the logs folder of the LLS installation directory.

  • Configuration of the HCL Products and Platforms portal for software entitlements management using My HCL Software server that interacts with Velocity.
